Wow – we have been overwhelmed with the amounts raised by the children, across the school, as a result of our sponsored read. In addition to the monies raised, there was a lot of reading the other week too. Mrs Kidd shared the good news on our Celebration Assembly on Friday and the children who raised the most in each year group were awarded a prize. Due to the keenness of the children and their generous sponsors, Mrs Kidd provided 18 prizes – with thanks to Emma Bailey from Usborne Books for providing the prizes. Just over a fifth of the school participated so they should be very proud of the huge amount of money they raised. A special mention to Lily-Monica who raised the highest amount in the school – £100!! If we were to do this again and every child in the school participated we could raise further amounts to restock our books, which the children love and access weekly. Mrs Kidd can’t wait to add new stock to the library, refresh the class book loans and our banded books too. A really big THANK YOU to all our children for their reading and to their generous sponsors. Go Gomer!
