To mark the ‘end of term’ (and the school closure following government directive) we gathered as a community with an Easter Eggstravaganza on Friday 20 March. The children really enjoyed dashing about outside solving clues to gather letters that were hidden around the school grounds. Once the letters were rearranged into a word the children were rewarded with an Easter treat. Mr Potter aka Easter Bunny especially enjoyed the afternoon and helped the children accordingly. With thanks to Team Gomer for organising this event with such short notice – it certainly brightened everyone’s mood. At such an uncertain time we wanted to do something memorable. We are thinking carefully about all children but in particular our Year 6 children who will need an opportunity, at some point, to say farewell to Gomer.
We were not ready to say ‘goodbye’ to Year 6 on Friday; mindful that many of them were not in school and we did not want Friday to feel like the last day because there are so many unknowns. Furthermore, we will still be working with Year 6 online. We just do not know when school will reopen. Please be reassured that whenever this is we will be sorting something for Year 6 to say ‘goodbye’ and for us to support them with the transition to their new school.
