It has been a week since World Book Day during which the Gomer community expressed themselves. Using the medium of a plain baseball hat, the children decorated their hat to reflect their individuality. The hats looked superb at our ‘hat walk’. Some were teamed with the children’s uniform, home clothes or a book characters costume. The visuals of the day linked to us exploring a range of books which enabled our pupils to further understand and respect the diverse world in which we live. The books chosen helped to develop essential life skills such as respect and empathy. We will continue to access such books in our curriculum. World Book Day will gave us extra opportunity to enjoy and learn about difference through books.
