Year 3 visited the beach yesterday as part of their beach school curriculum. They took part in four activities during the afternoon. First, investigating the beach profile and learning about how rocks are eroded by  wave action. Next, they collected a variety of stones to create their own installation in the style of Andy Goldsworthy. After that they built on their grammar learning;  finding adjectives to describe what they could see, hear, smell and taste at the beach. Finally, using pictures they tried to  identify the plants found on the beach . Before leaving the children were asked to find a sharp stone to use when making their own Stone Age spear. The children, despite being very excited, were very well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed their visit. Go Gomer!
