During the visit to the Marine UK careers event yesterday the children learnt about how light-houses are serviced and maintained. This was fascinating because we had never really considered engineering that sustains our much needed light-houses. The whole event took place on-board NLV Pharos, a fully operational lighthouse vessel, which is taking up residence in the Thames during London International Shipping Week, and is moored alongside HMS Belfast.
