On Thursday 6 June Gosport remembered those that gave their lives and service at the  D Day Landings. The GFM were proud to work with Hampshire County Council, Hampshire Music Service and the Hampshire Cultural Trust to host a concert to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D Day landings. Children from across the GFM read a range of memoirs including our own Connie in 6ST. The school choir sang superbly and joined the choir from Alverstoke Junior and Leesland Junior to sing four 1940s songs – they did so superbly – very moving! With thanks to Kerry Kenward their vocal coach. The Hampshire Service Staff Jazz band were brilliant and the whole audience sang along with Kerry Kenward too. It was great to see the GFM honour guard, comprised of army, air force and naval cadet. They created a walk way for those joining the concert.  We were pleased that Evie in 6ST former part of that honour guard.
