St. Mary’s Church hosted our annual Christingle on Friday 14 December. The event marks the end of an RE Advent unit of work and an opportunity for Y4 to share a lovely part of advent with their parents/cares; many of whom joined us. The Rev. Andy led our service and was supported by Mrs Wilden who shared a bible reading, Mrs Mulhall who led the talk and ten children who shared a prayer.  Miss Lines was delighted to light the Advent Candles on her birthday! The service ended with everyone standing around the edge of the church singing ‘O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree’ over their lit Christingles. Y4 have raised £95, from spare change, for The Children’s Society – brilliant and thank you. Thank you also to the Rev. Andy.Mr Pilott and the stewards for enabling an annual event which we enjoy very much.
