On Friday 11 November, Y4 extended their learning in history by visiting Butser Ancient Farm. The farm has many constructions of ancient buildings based on real sites, dating from the Stone Age through the Iron Age and Roman Britain, and finishing with the Anglo-Saxons. The farm also grow crops from prehistory and keep rare breeds of animals, including pigs, goats and sheep. This gave Y4 plenty of scope to decide if they would rather be a Celt or a Roman.

During the day the children spent time in a Roman Villa, looked at Round Houses, built a wall and a fence and crafted a mosaic alongside participating in an archaeological dig.  Y4 were super ambassadors for our school.
