ENTHUSE Partnerships inspire young people into STEM subjects and careers. The Partnerships enable groups of schools and colleges to improve young people’s achievement and engagement in STEM.
Groups of schools and colleges receive up to £12,000 worth of support. The GFM are delighted to be leading on a Primary AND a Secondary Partnership which sees us working closely with local schools. We were awarded this opportunity in January and our work starts proper in September. With thanks to the following organisations for supporting and over-seeing the successes of our partnership: STEM Learning, Tomorrow’s Engineers and the Careers and Enterprise Company.

Gomer Junior School are proud to be working alongside The National STEM Centre to share their pioneering practice in STEM and bring a wide range of practical CPD sessions, hands on workshops, STEM fairs and STEM Leadership Consulting, to schools in the Gosport, Fareham and Portsmouth area. Their aim is to make changes to Primary and Secondary curriculums which can then more effectively enable and enthuse children to continue learning STEM subjects and develop their Engineering Habits of mind; Gomer’s mission is to close the National STEM-skills gap. Support is completely funded by the STEM Centre, so joining their ENTHUSE partnerships (which currently cater for 12 KS1-KS4 schools), is completely free.
CPD opportunities, STEM fairs and workshops are hosted by the National STEM Centre, by tried and tested STEM Ambassadors, experienced Classroom Teachers and well established Senior Leaders. Bespoke packages are expected, so support provided can be tailored to the unique needs of every school, its cohort and local STEM opportunities. The partnerships are part of a two year programme, during which time teachers and leaders will develop the skills, confidence and enthusiasm to drive change in their schools, in order to make quality STEM education an essential component of the education they provide, for many years to come.
Places on the ENTHUSE Partnerships are limited, however Gomer Junior is able to provide support to schools through their STEM consultancy packages.
Gomer Junior understand that ‘Learning Today for the Challenge of Tomorrow’, isn’t learning that happens overnight – they are now using their 3 year journey to inspire others whilst they continue to drive standards in STEM subjects with their own pupils.
