WOW! Nationally, there are 681 Primary schools taking part in The Big Pedal and with secondary schools, 1649 in total. Due to being a school that had over 15% of it’s population scooting or cycling into school on Monday 18 April, (we had 36%!) we were entered into the Big Pedal daily draw.  To launch the Big Pedal, the top prize was being award on Day 1. We are very excited to announce that we won – Go Gomer!

WIN

We will have the pleasure of hosting a display from The Extreme Mountain Bike Show. We will be arranging a date, hopefully for later on in the term for the team to visit and wow us with their skills.

The Extreme Mountain Bike Show is the UK and Europe’s number one mountain bike and Trials/BMX demonstration team lead by the Multiple British and European trials bike champion Danny Butler.

The three main team riders have now been working alongside each other for the past six years and have performed their amazing shows for crowds of all ages from a small handful to in access of five thousand people, showing off the best of their skills, from small local events to national indoor and outdoor exhibitions, of late the team has been showing their talents in many areas of the UK as they are the key team behind the promotion of cycling in schools all around the UK.

So, following a superb launch on Monday we are even more enthused about the Big Pedal 2016. With thanks to Mrs Bottriell for her committed leadership to BikeIt! activities and BikeIt! Ray for his continued support. As he would say, ‘keep rolling’ – especially this week and next week!
