The week ahead is Carers Week. Carers are people who help look after people. Carers can be a variety of ages. Carers Week happens one week, every year, to shine an awesome spotlight on some of the challenges carers face and to recognise the help that they give their families. What they do is very important. You may think that children can’t be carers but they can! Around 6.5 million people are carers, looking after a parent, friend or family member. They might be looking after someone with a disability, illness, mental health problem or who needs extra help as they grow.
Being a carer of any age, young or old can be very rewarding, but can sometimes be a bit hard too. At the moment, carers face a new challenges due to being at home more and take on a lot more responsibilities. So, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the carers in our community – for the work you provide everyday! If your child is a young carer and you have not told us, please do. The school and our  LAPs Team are keen and available to help and support your child.
