On Thursday afternoon, our citizenship club visited the Lee-On-The- Solent Library. The children learned a little bit about the history of the library and met with some of their volunteers. They were set a challenge that allowed them to familiarise themselves with the Dewey decimal system, before helping put returned books back onto the shelves in the correct places. When children had finished putting the books away they were able to pick a few books to take home with them – these were from the books the library had on sale but were given free to our young volunteers. Lee On Solent Library was thrilled to work with the children and see how much they loved books and reading. We are looking forward to hosting the Library volunteers at school for a book and cake sale to help raise money for this wonderful library.
