Yesterday, Year 4 were excited to accept the challenge to Think Like Engineers and design, build, code and test a LEGO SPIKE Prime vehicle to take part in a race. Working in pairs each design was uniquely different with a range of sensors added for control. After some initial coding we headed to the race track for Practice 1 (P1) after which there was an opportunity to modify their design to increase stability, durability and, best of all, speed.At the heart of the fun was “Making ‘things’ that work and making ‘things’ work better”Some great skills were on display; visualisation (initial ideas and design) teamwork and collaboration, creative problem solving, adapting and improving.
