We are delighted this term to be supporting the Future Pillar Zambia Association in their School Shoe Appeal for the children of Zambia.

As part of our ongoing work and commitment to our local, national and international community we would like to announce that GFM schools will be taking part in the Future Pillars Zambia Shoe Appeal on Thursday 25 November. If you can support this campaign, we ask for donations of school shoes that are no longer used or are unwanted to be donated on this day. Please ensure that pairs of shoes are held together with elastic bands or tied together.

Collection points for the Zambia School Shoe Appeal will be available at our school gates on arrival in the morning on Thursday 25 November.

We would love our whole community, where possible, to support this fantastic initiative and help enable the children of Zambia, many of whom travel miles to school barefoot, a safer, more comfortable start to their learning journeys from 2022 by donating a pair of school shoes.

To find out more about the appeal, please read the information below:

‘It is a fact that poverty levels are such in Zambia that affording clothes and particularly shoes are out of reach for many. We ask you to donate a pair of shoes that you or someone you know have outgrown or no longer require. We ask that the shoes are suitable for school.

Future Pillar Zambia will arrange for collection and then shipment to Zambia, where your gift will make a huge difference to the life of a child, enabling their journey to and from school to be more comfortable which will also enable FPZ to achieve its aim’.
