Congratulations to our recently appointed School Council – Y3: George and Bonnie Y4: Sophie and Max Y5: Joshua and Mary Y6: Sam and Liam. All classes attended a special School Council assembly, where they shared qualities of what makes a successful School Council representative. The children were elected by their class and are very proud of their appointment. Mr Potter (CEO) congratulated the team and shared how important it is to start developing leaders for tomorrow.  George and Bonnie shared how they are looking forward to developing ideas about school visits and helping children with their feelings more. Playing new games at break time and lunch time was important to Sophie and Max – helping others to develop good sportsmanship. They are also looking forward to meeting visitors to the school and wondered if they could invite sports heros in?  Joshua and Mary spoke about meeting new people and looking forward to listening to their class for ideas about what they felt could make Gomer even better. Sam and Max beamed with pride about being nominated and shared how proud they felt. They simply want to make Gomer even better and ‘the best it can be.’ The School Council team have their first meeting due on Friday 29 September, to meet Mr Walls, the Director of Schooling for the GFM. They are looking forward to the experience. We have created a page on our website for you to read their meeting minutes and seeing the impact their roles have across the school. Go Gomer!
