World Book Day 2019 has been brilliant! We started the day with a Big Booky Breakfast which was very well attended (we ate 150 pastries) and was a great opportunity to read at breakfast time. We also raised £59.33 for Book Aid to help provide books for children who would not normally access them. Thank you for your donations today. The News captured the start of day and you can read the article here (it will be in the paper tomorrow):

Our whole school assembly was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to see their costumes and for one child from each class to be awarded with a Book Token for inspiring us to read the book their dress-up character was from. Team Gomer looked amazing today as the Horrible Histories characters and shared their favourite books with the children.
In addition to a super tasty book themed lunch, Gomer used parts of the day to make book marks, write book reviews for our library bunting, shared favourite stories and read to each other – Y6 loved reading to Y3. A brilliant day. A WBD full photo album will follow. Go Gomer!
