For the first time the GFM are hosting a cross-MAT STEM event to engage our pupils with the application of STEM learning in many areas of industry. At the event the children can meet representatives from the: Army, BAE, CEMAST, Royal Navy, NATS, RAEng and more. There are many interactive displays in addition to attending some STEM related shows. The upper school will be attending the event during the school day. This event was included on the October newsletter for Y6 only – we are delighted to have been able to extend this opportunity to Y5 and will not be sending home a letter due to the local nature of this visit.
Y5: Tuesday 30 October – late morning – FREE
Y6: Wednesday 31 October – later morning – FREE
The event is free to our pupils who will walk to the event which is being hosted at Bay House Sports Hall. The children will leave school late morning to make the 10 minute walk. The children will have a snack before they leave and have a late lunch on their return back to school. We are delighted that the children can access this superb opportunity which we hope will become an annual event due to the GFM leading on two ENTHUSE projects.
Should ANY Gomer pupil wish to attend the event, they can attend the family twilight on Wednesday 31 October, Bay House Sports Hall, 4-5pm. This is FREE to attend.
