With big THANKS to Sue Evans for giving her time to work with our children across the school to make some hand-made poppies. This activity, on this occasion was provided for Y6, Y5 and Y4 and marks the start of our 100 year commemorations. We have activities planned for the whole school after half-term and all children will be contributing to creating a poppy garden of remembrance at the front of school. The children will be given the opportunity to make a donation to the Royal British Legion, after half term so that they can ‘own’ their poppy and wear it during the period of remembrance – we have the traditional paper ones too and a Royal British Legion collection pot. In the event children do not wish to be reunited with their own poppy we will use this within one our school displays to support the 100 year commemoration of the end of WWl.
