To support our Y5 and Y6 RE curriculum, a Buddhist visitor joined us yesterday. The whole school received an assembly from Mrs Mulhall on Monday which outlined who the Buddha is and his path to enlightenment. The visit was arranged to compliment upper school learning. Our Buddhist visitor enabled children to learn about the religion ‘first hand’ and ask questions of what they learnt. For those children who were happy to, they had the opportunity to participate in a meditation activity which focussed on calming the mind and breathing techniques. As a school we recognise that we can learn much from people who are practising a religion and we were grateful for the time given to the children from our visitor – pictured below.
