On Wednesday 15 March, twenty of our pupils – School Council and our Head and Deputy Head Boy and Girl – embarked on an amazing opportunity; they visited the Houses of Parliament followed by an educational workshop about how UK democracy has been shaped over time and what happens to our vote.

The pupils explored:
  • Norman Porch, the Robing Room and/or The Royal Gallery
  • The House of Commons and/or House of Lords chambers
  • Central Lobby, at the ‘heart’ of the Houses of Parliament
  • St. Stephen’s Hall, the home of the original House of Commons
  • Westminster Hall, the last remaining part of the original Palace
During the tour the pupils were given the opportunity to watch Prime Ministers Questions from the gallery and even watch our local MP speak.  After addressing an urgent question in parliament, our MP Caroline Dinenage met with the pupils and and answered their questions before they headed home.
What an experience ! What a day ……. As always, the children were great ambassadors for our school.
