World Book day is Thursday 2 March but the Gomer Book Day is Friday 3 March due to Y5 being out of school on a visit on the Thursday. Additionally, we thought dressing up on a Friday is a great way to end the week.

We are encouraging all children (adults too) to dress up as their favourite Fairy Tale character. We have received feedback that some children are not keen on the theme proposed by the school. If your child is not ‘taken’ by the theme we would rather they chose a book character they were keen on if this encouraged them to dress up.

Needing some ideas? There are many characters to choose from, including:

    • Aladdin
    • Alice in Wonderland
    • Beauty and the Beast
    • Briar Rose: The Sleeping Beauty
    • Cinderella
    • Goldilocks and the Three Bears
    • Hansel and Gretel
    • Jack and the Beanstalk
    • Little Red Riding Hood
    • Peter Pan
    • Pinocchio
    • Puss in Boots
    • Rapunzel
    • Rumpelstiltskin
    • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
    • Snow White & Rose Red
    • The Frog Prince
    • The Little Mermaid
    • The Emperor’s New Clothes
    • The Snow Queen
    • The Little Match Girl
    • The Elves and the Shoemaker
    • The Selfish Giant
    • The Nightingale
    • The Fox and The Hound
    • The Three Little Pigs
    • The Ugly Duckling
    • The Gingerbread Man
    • The Twelve Dancing Princesses
    • The Princess and the Pea
    • Thumbelina
    • Tom Thumb

Additionally, children can accessorise their school uniform with items linked to that favourite character. We will organise a special assembly and some activities for the afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing the children dressed up.
