As part of our BikeIt! initiative, we do encourage cycling and scooting to school but would ask you to consider the safety implications.  Permission is granted on the understanding that your child is a competent cyclist. Cycling to School permission letters can be collected from the school office.
Your child is required to store his/her bicycle in the cycle rack to the rear of the school and it must be locked securely during the school day.  Please note that neither the school nor Hampshire County Council can take any responsibility for damage or loss to the bicycle whilst it is on the premises.
You will appreciate that once your child leaves the school grounds on his/her bicycle responsibility for their safety lies with yourself.
In line with Hampshire’s policy, our community policeman and/or BikeIt! Crew will be making spot checks of bicycles on the school premises from time to time.  Permission to keep the cycles on school premises may be revoked if they are unsafe.
Gosport Road Safety Committee are strongly encouraging all children to wear protective helmets when cycling to school.  Please consider this advice very seriously.
Should you require further information regarding cycling proficiency and our BikeIt! initiative please contact Mrs Sarah Bottriell.
Thank you for your co-operation and support.
