Firstly, we would like to wish all our ‘Mums’ a lovely Mothering Sunday. We do hope your day will be even nicer with the gifts your children purchased on Thursday. The children were very happy with the pocket money gifts and we hope you will be too. Thank you for supporting this event that has raised us some FROGJS funds too. With thanks to Mrs Gardner, Mrs Wakley and Mrs White for hosting the stall.
Interestingly, Mothering Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Lent. Although it’s often called Mothers’ Day it has no connection with the American festival of that name.Traditionally, it was a day when children, mainly daughters, who had gone to work as domestic servants were given a day off to visit their mother and family.
