Mr Milnes and Mr Woolway read stories to a third of Y4 last night, in the library, during the early evening. It isn’t unusual for the teachers to be working at school into the night. However, they do not normally wear their pyjamas for this! The Y4 children also wore their pyjamas and enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits whilst snuggled up in the library. Mrs Cowan, our Y4 Learning Mentor also read with the children whilst Mrs Kidd, our librarian, spent time with parents and carers. The adults discussed how to further support the children with reading at home. They also had time reading stories with the children. It was great to see so many books being taken home, on loan from the School Library Service. With thanks to everyone who attended, the adults for giving their time to run the ‘warmer’ and to Janice from the Library Service for hosting part of the evening. Y5 and Y6 can look forward to a Summer Sizzler.
