Gomer FC 1 Alverstoke FC 4
A beautiful sunny day on Wednesday saw local rivals Gomer and Alverstoke meet for a re-arranged football fixture. Gomer players were slow out of the blocks and before they knew it were 0-2 down. This sparked the team into life and for the rest of the first half they dominated possession but could not find a goal. The second half started as the first had ended, with Gomer making all the running. Gomer pressure was finally rewarded by a Ryan Parnell tap in. As time started to run out, Gomer pressed for the equaliser but in doing so left spaces at the back. This resulted in two late Alverstoke goals. However, there were many encouraging signs for the next game which is home to Woodcot on Tuesday 18th March.
